Qivana Recognized as the 3rd Fastest Growing New Company in Utah

The Utah Valley Entrepreneurial Forum recognizes Qivana as a top emerging company

PROVO, UTAH – July 25, 2011– Qivana was recognized as a top emerging company in Utah by the Utah Valley Entrepreneurial Forum (UVEF) at the “Top 25 Under 5” awards. Qivana finished 3rd on the list of the 25 fastest growing companies in Utah that have been in business for less than 5 years. Finalists were chosen based on revenue growth and job creation.

Qivana has seen its revenues grow 150 percent over its first full year of operation. “We have gone from an idea around a table, to a multinational company doing millions of dollars in sales in just our second year,” said Devin Glazier, Qivana Chief Financial Officer. “Our long-term growth strategy lies in our revolutionary product philosophy and our unique approach to international expansion that will enable more people to lead healthier lives through Qivana products.”

The Utah Valley Entrepreneurial Forum began 12 years ago and is a volunteer nonprofit support and networking group that spotlights outstanding Utah Entrepreneurs and start-up companies. The UVEF helps promote businesses that may become leaders in their industry. Past finalists include Omniture, Zagg and Skullcandy.

Congratulations are in order—Ray and Mikelyn Clausen are the latest Qivana IBOs to achieve the rank of Executive Diamond!

Ray and Mikelyn Clausen are Qivana’s newest Executive Diamonds! The Clausens’ love of associating with people is what has fueled their passion for the network marketing industry, and in turn led them to this incredible milestone. But they say it is a shared victory, “We know that the secret behind any accomplishment in this business is an exceptionally supportive upline.” Mikelyn admits, “John, Matt, and Traci have all been so faithful and supportive in coming here to do meetings for us. Matt comes to Destin once every month to support our team. They have been instrumental in our success.” Congratulations Ray and Mikelyn!

Ray & Mikelyn Clausen: Redefining the Golden Years

Ray and Mikelyn Clausen are enjoying their golden years together, but they are anything but retired. This dynamic duo is successfully building a strong Qivana team not only here in the United States, but also in Vietnam and Mexico. “The fact that we are finding such success both here and internationally, and at our age, just proves that there really are no limits with Qivana!” says Mikelyn. “Our future looks better and better with every step, thanks to Qivana,” adds Ray.

Ray and Mikelyn have both enjoyed being involved in the network marketing industry in the past mainly because of their love of associating with people. Ray worked 39 years in the electrical utility industry and retired as one of the vice presidents of Alabama electric. Retirement was short lived however, when a friend invited him to buy into a filter manufacturing company. This business venture lasted nine years and turned out to be an incredible and very enjoyable success for Ray. Mikelyn’s only job outside of the home was as the director of volunteer services for a local hospital. Together, the Clausens have five children, 11 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. After officially retiring, the Clausens sold their home in Alabama and moved to Florida. “We are enjoying a laid back lifestyle at the beach and it has been great!” exclaims Ray.

The Clausens are long-time friends of John Terhune and Ernie Lechner. “We feel blessed to be around John, Ernie, and their wives and we respect and admire their leadership,” says Mikelyn. The personal relationships and credibility that the Clausens have with the Terhunes and Lechners made it easy for them to want to be a part of Qivana. “At first, we felt like we were too old to start something new,” admits Mikelyn. “But we feel like we’ve been led to this opportunity.”

Faithfully and enthusiastically, the Clausens signed up on March 3, 2009. “We didn’t have any products and the company didn’t even have a name yet. Our kids thought we had really gone off the deep end,” laughs Mikelyn. They had confidence in the leadership, and once they began taking the Qore System products, the Clausens had proof. “I challenge people to consistently take our products for three months and to let their doctor tell them if the products are working or not. We have measurable results,” she adds.

Ray and Mikelyn steadily built their Qivana business and hit Diamond in April 2010. This success was followed by a period of slow growth, but the Clausens remained determined and focused; a quality learned from their upline, John Terhune and Dr. Matt and Tracy St. John. “We know that the secret behind any accomplishment in this business is an exceptionally supportive upline.” Mikelyn admits, “John, Matt, and Traci have all been so faithful and supportive in coming here to do meetings for us. Matt comes to Destin once every month to support our team. They have been instrumental in our success.”

Even better, this slow period forced them to think outside of the box. “We know the economy here is tough, so we thought it would be beneficial to expand our business internationally,” she says. Mikelyn is a member of Business Networking International (BNI), so she began searching online for BNI members in Mexico. She found an excellent contact that spoke perfect English and was looking for the right business opportunity. Ray is also a member of the Rotary Club, another international organization, so he obtained a list of all the Rotary Club presidents in Mexico and began contacting them. The Clausens now have a team growing in Mexico. “It’s simple thinking and a huge step of taking action,” says Mikelyn.

The Clausens quickly realized that having an international business didn’t necessarily require international travel. “We have so many people from different countries and cultures living here in the United States with ties to their native countries. We knew that if we could focus on personally sponsoring people here in the United States, the possibilities of them sharing it with their families and friends back home would be great,” says Mikelyn. This expansion started by personally sponsoring individuals in Atlanta, Georgia who began working with the Vietnamese population in that city. This business growth quickly expanded to Vietnam and before they knew it, Ray and Mikelyn were hitting Executive Diamond! “Getting to know these people, their cultures, and their communities is amazing,” says Ray. “We feel so blessed to have the opportunity to work with both the Vietnamese and Mexican people,” says Mikelyn.

Their advice to other IBOs considering international business expansion is to look around and start personally sponsoring here in the United States. “You’ll quickly discover just how many opportunities there are with people living here from different countries,” says Mikelyn. They both agree that the benefits they have gained from working with people of different cultures and countries have been amazing. “We have a small challenge with the language sometimes, but the opportunity to do business with them in their communities far exceeds any challenge,” says Mikelyn.

Building a business across borders can have its challenges, so Ray and Mikelyn teach their team members to keep things simple and to use the system already in place. “We try to show them the simplest ways to do things so that everyone can afford to be in this business,” says Ray. One example is that the Clausens only serve water at their meetings. They also use the SEE concept, which is Share the business opportunity; Engage by bringing them to the team through a meeting, phone call, etc.; and Enroll—it’s their decision.

Ray and Mikelyn’s outlook on their golden years together has taken on new meaning with Qivana. “It has changed our lives immensely,” says Ray. “Qivana has given us independence and improved health, and the income has enabled us to put back into our retirement, instead of spending it, which is fantastic!” Mikelyn adds, “Our children now tell us to please not act our age! We feel so grateful for our upline and our team members and we look forward to enjoying these wonderful relationships with our new Qivana family.”

SECRETS TO SUCCESS

1. Always keep a positive attitude.

2. Focus on helping others.

3. Let Qivana be the solution for goals or needs.

Christine Teodosio: In the Business of Bringing Family Together

Christine Teodosio is one of those remarkable individuals who has persistently continued to flourish, in spite of her circumstances. “I would describe myself as a survivor because change was always constant in my life,” she says. Christine believes that her faith and determination to survive have guided her throughout her life. “My hardships have led me to have a creative mind as far as creating an income,” she adds. Having three jobs at one time was normal for Christine, so the idea of network marketing, building a residual income while maintaining a fulltime job, was something very feasible for her.

Christine’s professional background includes experience in sales, the fashion and cosmetics industry, and real estate. She and her husband, Robert, worked together in the real estate industry for 13 years and achieved the top three percent in the nation in home sales. When the Teodosios lost their home and almost everything they had on Black Monday, it forced Christine to become creative and resourceful once again. “It took nearly 13 years for my husband and I to gain our credibility back, but we turned our adversity into a blessing and it has been a key to our success with Qivana because we became acquainted with some wonderful people during our hard times,” she says.

Christine operates an upscale women’s boutique, yet despite their busy work schedules, the Teodosios were still living from paycheck to paycheck. “At that time when we should be near retirement and enjoying our golden years we were living month to month with more ailments, adding more hours to our jobs, a failing economy, and increased taxes and debt,” she says. Christine and Robert were introduced to Qivana by her daughter, Danelle Rich who is Qivana’s quickest to Diamond IBO. “She sparked my interest because she thoroughly researches things and she has been successful in everything she does,” Christine says.

The Teodosios quickly realized Qivana was a win-win opportunity. “Health and wellness plus residual income equal a baby boomer’s dream!” exclaims Christine. For the Teodosios, there were no risk factors with Qivana. “These great health and nutrition products cost less than what I would normally have to spend on doctor co-pays, vitamins, and physical therapy. Plus I’m saving money because I’m eating better,” she says. “I knew the products were working because my employees noticed my energy and my ability to stand, lift, and move with ease.”

It didn’t take long for the Teodosios to recognize and appreciate the wonderful strengths of their team members. Christine works full time at her current job, so Danelle stepped in and offered to help. “Robert and I are walking Rolodexes, so Danelle asked us to invite our contacts to the meetings. In no time at all, the Qivana family was helping us. I couldn’t believe how fun and exciting it was to leave our full time jobs at 6 p.m., attend a Qivana meeting, enroll our new IBOs afterwards, and then enjoy dinner together as a Qivana family.”

Danelle has been very instrumental in Christine’s success. This mother-daughter relationship is one of mutual respect with a strong desire to see each other succeed. “She has pointed out our gifts to us, she encouraged us by waiving her checks at us, and she engaged our entire family to work together, and to build and have a future together,” she says. Christine enjoys reciting her new motto which is, “The family that works Qivana together, stays together!”

The Teodosios began working their Qivana business together but Robert recently became an IBO himself so that he could have the opportunity to develop and strengthen a team with his friends and associates. “We love meeting new people, finding out what they do, and networking with them. It’s also wonderful to have the opportunity to revive old friendships. Best of all, we are helping people to achieve a lifestyle of health and a new source of income,” Christine shares.

Christine’s advice to other IBOs is to remember that most of the best entrepreneurs, inventors, and athletes have been told that they should give up. “Remember to embrace change as your friend and vehicle to success,” she adds. “Keep your faith, give thanks, and bless others.”

As one who is used to adapting to change, Christine is happy to say that Qivana represents a change that she had only dreamed of. “We will be healthy enough to enjoy our golden years, make up the retirement we lost and provide for ourselves, and finally pay it forward and bless others,” she says. “Plus in this day and age when families share little time together, we have found that we are bonding, growing, and sharing. I’m blessed and proud to be in a company that brings it all together. With Qivana, I know that we are using our God-given talents to bring our family together and to bless others.”

SECRETS TO SUCCESS

1. Build a strong foundation.

2. TEAM—together, each accomplishes more.

3. Remember to thank God. Believing is receiving.

2011 Qivana Platinum Trip Recap

Clear blue waters. Warm island breezes. A tropical getaway. Good friends and camaraderie. And above all, recognition to Platinum leaders for a job well done! Qivana’s Rewards Trips are second to none and this year’s Platinum Trip was no exception.

Attendees from across the country gathered together for this year’s getaway at the spectacular Atlantis Resort in Nassau, Bahamas from June 13-17. Qivana’s Platinum IBOs were treated to a week of team building activities, personalized business building strategies, product training, snorkeling and catamaran excursions, a Qivana Cares service project, and much more.

The Platinum Trip is the springboard event that helps lead Platinum IBOs on their path towards becoming a Diamond. During this trip, Platinum leaders are afforded the opportunity to network and bond with their cross-line leaders, as well as receive training that will give them important building tools necessary to grow their teams. The Sharing of Best Practices meetings were hosted by some of Qivana’s top IBO leaders who provided onsite training on topics such as how to host meetings, how to recruit in a cold and warm market, and how to retain strong leaders. Attendees were also treated to product insights and training from Dr. Donald Layman. All of Qivana’s Founders attended the trip, along with their spouses, as well as Bonnie Blair, Gold Medal Speed Skating Olympic Champion.

Of course no Qivana trip is complete without some adventurous fun! The entire group bravely donned snorkel gear to swim in the warm tropical waters together and with the local resident sharks! We are happy to report that it was a safe and exciting experience for all! A catamaran trip and a historical city tour of Nassau were also part of the retreat.

Yet all IBO leaders will agree that the highlight of the trip was the Qivana Cares service project at the Ranfurly Homes for Children. IBOs brought school supplies, books, educational videos, games, and treats for the children at this home who no longer have parents to provide for them. “The Ranfurly Home for Children opened their doors to us and definitely won our hearts,” says Marcole Nebeker, Events Manager. “As we visited with the directors of the Ranfurly Home and toured their facilities, the children shared their experiences with us about the difficult situations they came from and yet they amazed us with their bright smiling faces and positive outlook on life, despite their hardships.” The afternoon was spent playing games, sharing stories, and shooting hoops with the Founders.

Alexandra Maillis-Lynch, president of Ranfurly Homes for Children says, “We appreciate the thoughtfulness and generosity of the gifts and time given to the children of the Ranfurly Homes. The warmth, caring, and concern displayed by your company is invaluable to these children who have faced tremendous difficulties in their young lives and have much to overcome.  It is only by sharing our lives that we can even begin to overcome the issues associated with low self-esteem, abandonment, lack of trust, neglect and fear. We very much look forward to a continued relationship with you and your company.”

This year’s Platinum Trip was amazing and a true retreat for all those who attended. Best of all, the sense of camaraderie among IBOs and Founders was contagious as they came to know each other, recognize their common goals to help others, and as each of them recommitted themselves to be their best as part of the Qivana team. More than just a retreat, the Platinum Trip is an event that every IBO should make the goal to attend! Start qualifying today!

The Platinum trip to Atlantis was an incredible & rewarding experience all the way around—the Resort, the team-building, the sharing of best practices—was amazing.  I left there with 40 new friends that I can call on at any time to help me build my business anywhere in the world. Just being around the like-minded IBO leaders, and spending the week with Derek, the founders, and Dr. Layman supercharged my enthusiasm—and my gratitude—for being a part of Qivana. We were family before, now I feel like we’re blood.
