Meet a Qivana Legend: Mark Yarnell

In the world of network marketing, Mark Yarnell is an icon. He has built a successful international distribution organization of more than 300,000 marketing representatives in 21 countries. Mark has been honored and recognized internationally with numerous awards in the industry, including the American Dream Award, and was named the Greatest Networker in the World by Upline Magazine. He has authored and published several bestsellers, including Your First Year in Network Marketing, Self Wealth and Your Best Year in Network Marketing. Mark was the first and only person from the network marketing industry to serve as contributing editor to Success Magazine. Mark’s success has earned him the honor of being indoctrinated into the Network Marketing Hall of Fame.

In the minds and hearts of those he has served, Mark is a mentor, a teacher, and a hero. He is the founder of The Eagles, a literacy organization for penitentiary inmates, and the School of Sobriety, the only free treatment program in Nevada for alcoholics and addicts. Mark’s charitable work earned him the Nevada Philanthropist of the Year Award from the Washington Times.

To anyone seeking to create a successful career and live their dreams, Mark represents hope. He is a true example of what focus, hard work, and determination can yield, even in the toughest of times. His venture into the network marketing industry began 25 years ago. A Christian minister in Texas, Mark and his congregation were hit hard when the economy tanked, and he had run out of options. “I was up against the wall financially and I didn’t have a degree or profession to fall back on,” he says. Mark’s friend approached him about a ground-floor opportunity with a network marketing company and told him to consider it as a viable option. Mark did his research.

“I verified the truth about the products, the company, and the financial opportunity. I knew I could believe it so sharing it with others was a no-brainer,” he says. Mark knew success for him was a numbers game so he decided he would talk to 30 people a day, five days a week. Mark’s philosophy was to tell as many people as he could, shake off the dust to those who didn’t listen, and to move on. Looking back, Mark says, “It has been 25 years of fun! I’ve worked hard, lived all over Europe and Asia, and spent quality time with my family.”

By all standards, Mark has it made. He and his wife, Valerie, live in the beautiful mountains of British Columbia, Canada and enjoy the kind of lifestyle made of dreams. So when his friend, Jerry Campisi called him last year about Qivana, one might wonder why Mark decided to listen. “I paid attention due to the respect I have for Jerry. He has never exaggerated anything so when he told me he had found the ultimate company, I listened,” Mark explains. The second step was pivotal. Mark and Jerry flew to Provo and spent nine hours with Qivana’s founders. “I knew after that trip that Qivana was the greatest opportunity I had ever seen.” And Mark knows which components create solid opportunity in a network marketing company. After all, he and Dr. Charles King of Harvard University created the first certification course in network marketing which has been taught at the University of Illinois, Chicago and in Seoul, Korea since 1993.

When people ask Mark what differentiates Qivana from other companies, he tells them, “I am believer in hard science and rational adult due diligence. If a product affects you in positive ways, you either have anecdotal stories or hard science. Qivana is hard science that is documented.” He continues, “The second is the management technology of the leaders. Qivana has five leaders who are experts at a corporate level. You just don’t find that in other companies.”

With the unstable global economic climate, Mark says that he is certain that Qivana is the right opportunity right now. “There has never been a greater time when people need an alternative income stream, and there’s no way to make money faster than network marketing.” He adds, “Once the switch flips and people really understand network marketing, they will never want to do anything else. Why would anyone whose objective is cash flow enter into a profession where there’s a cap on their earnings? With Qivana, I can multiply my efforts and there’s no ceiling on my earnings. So why would I join a profession trading hours for dollars? I see network marketing as the most rational profession on earth if done professionally.”

Mark describes his approach to building his team as real simple. Two or three times a week he’ll do a live call with his team and prospects and then he’ll conduct advanced training every Saturday. “The phone is my best tool and I do three-way validation calls every day,” he says. Unlike many of his counterparts, Mark doesn’t use a cell phone, email, or other social media to communicate with his team members or to prospect. “I’m always here to support my team members every step of the way, but I’m not going to call and beg people to work,” he says.

And while Mark’s business building approach is simple, his goals are spectacular and inspiring. “I intend on creating a circle of young people who can carry on the torch. Qivana will be a 10 billion dollar company and the top nutraceutical company in the world.”

His success has come with many rewards, yet Mark says that his greatest enjoyment has come from having the financial resources to make a radical difference. “I help others because it brings personal fulfillment. And though I know that you will sow in fields in which you’ll never reap, and that you will reap in fields where you’ve never sown, I believe that you can’t give away much that you don’t end up getting rewarded for somehow,” he says. “What I’ve seen over the years is that I’ll do something of value to others and when I least expect it, something will come out of left field to reward me.”

Mark firmly believes that his success is a result of focus. “I’m a great believer that multitasking is irrational. My theory is that the shortest distance between two points is a straight line. Once I decide to do something, that’s it, and for me there’s only one company—it’s Qivana!”
